Marc Augsburger, MBA, BSN, RHCEOC
President & Chief Executive Officer
Marc has dedicated over 36 years to advancing rural healthcare. Born and raised in Bluffton, Ohio, Marc began his healthcare journey immediately after high school as a clinical nurse, gaining experience in cardiac stepdown units, special care units, emergency departments, and as a helicopter flight nurse for eight years. He transitioned into nursing management, where he successfully led emergency departments of varying sizes in both Ohio and Michigan. Marc's pursuit of excellence led him to executive leadership roles, beginning as Vice President of Operations at Caro Community Hospital (CCH) in Michigan. In 2009, he accepted the position of President and CEO at Horn Memorial Hospital in Iowa. Marc returned to Caro Community Hospital as President and CEO in 2013 and guided the hospital's acquisition by McLaren Healthcare in 2018.
Since March 2021, Marc has led Edgerton Hospital and Health Services. Under his guidance, EHHS has seen remarkable growth, highlighted by a $3.8 million Governor’s Healthcare Infrastructure grant in 2022 and expansion into Mental and Behavioral Health Services and Orthopedics. Marc’s leadership extends beyond hospital walls. An active Rotarian, he has served as president in Iowa and Michigan, president-elect in Wisconsin, and held district leadership roles. He maintains strong ties with hospital associations, currently serving on the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s Information Center Board and Public Policy Council and previously representing hospitals on the American Hospital Association’s Region 5 Policy Board.
Marc holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Rhodes State College (Formerly Lima Technical College), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wright State University and a Master’s of Business Administration, Healthcare Emphasis, from Baker College of Graduate Studies, a Customer Experience Post Graduate Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and most recently, a Rural Hospital CEO Certification from the National Rural Hospital Association.
Frederick Garcia, MHA
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Fred has dedicated over 25 years in healthcare. As a Texan, his journey began in the Navy as an Operations Specialist. After the Navy, he worked for the Air Force Occupational Medicine Division as an administrator/analyst. Fred then moved to Austin, working in many positions with the State of Texas as Bank Auditor, Internal Auditor, Accountant, Office of Inspector General Auditor. He is also one of the founders of the Texas Association of Inspector General. Fred earned his Certification of Inspector General Auditor (CIGA). He then learned data analytics serving strategic management. This led to leadership roles as an Assistant Chief Financial Officer then to Chief Financial Officer. He Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from University of Incarnate Word and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Capella University.
Mark Kindschi, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
Vice President of Support Services
With over 25 years of experience in human resources and 11 years in the health care industry, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge to this position. Most recently, Mark served as director of human resources for Edgerton Hospital and Health Services, prior to his recent position change to VP of Support Services. Before coming to EHHS, Mark worked at First Supply, LLC, where he developed and implemented a management trainee program, a leadership development program and served on the strategic management team. Mark achieved his Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in 1999 and served on the Wisconsin Legislative Council Special Committee on Labor Shortages throughout 2000. In 2005, he achieved the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Mark currently is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management.
Dawn Shaw
Vice President of Clinical Support Services/Materials Manager
Dawn brings more than 20 years of hands-on surgical experience to her leadership role at Edgerton Hospital and Health Services. Her surgical background spans everything from routine dental procedures to complex open-heart surgeries, giving her a deep understanding of patient care and the challenges faced on the front lines. Before stepping into her executive position, Dawn led the Materials Department at EHHS, where she focused on innovative solutions and responsible budgeting—always with the hospital’s mission and community in mind. Prior to her time in Edgerton, she worked with Vantage Outsourcing, managing ophthalmology programs across the Midwest. Dawn’s passion for making meaningful change in rural healthcare earned her the RWHC Rural Health Ambassador Award in 2023. She is proud to serve the Edgerton community and is committed to continuing to bring fresh ideas, compassion, and collaboration to her work every day.
