Edgerton Hospital Names New Board Of Trustees Member

Edgerton Hospital and Health Services is pleased to announce the appointment of new Board of Trustees member, Barry Irmen. The hospital’s Board is a diverse group of 11 individuals who, along with the hospital administration team, provide high-level leadership to all areas of hospital operations.

Irmen recently retired from his nearly 18-year tenure with the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. During this time, Irmen served in multiple roles including Director of Operations for Dane, Rock, Brown, Door, and Oconto counties, Chief Deputy Coroner, as well as K9 human remains detection handler. Prior to joining the Medical Examiner’s Office, Irmen held key positions with the Edgerton Police Department for 16 years. His responsibilities ranged from Detective Sergeant to Investigator to Patrolman, and he was recognized for his outstanding work by being named Officer of the Year.   Irmen participated in numerous law enforcement associations, task forces, and served on the Wisconsin Coroner’s and Medical Examiner’s Board from 2010-2021. Now, upon retirement, Irmen is pleased to offer his expertise in the areas of health and safety to Edgerton Hospital. He resides in Albion, WI with his wife Lori.

“Edgerton Hospital’s Board of Trustees is thrilled to have Barry as part of our leadership,” said Cindi Swanson, Board Chair. “He has worked for years to protect our communities and now his experience will help to guide the hospital and its team as they continue to offer quality care to all they serve.”
