Edgerton Hospital Dietitian Receives Award

Edgerton Hospital’s Registered Dietitian, Jenny Ludwig, recently accepted the 2018 Rural Health Ambassador Award given by the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC). Jenny was one of just 15 recipients in the State of Wisconsin.

The Rural Health Ambassador Award was established in 2004 by the RWHC as a way to recognize employees at member hospitals who have gone above the call of duty in promoting their hospital and have made significant contributions to rural health care in general. The award recipient must be involved in one or more activities that enhance the hospital’s relationship with the community, be a supporter and strengthen rural health care within their community and demonstrate a positive attitude when interacting with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers.

As Edgerton Hospital’s Registered Dietitian, Jenny is primarily responsible for nutrition assessment and education for all inpatients and outpatients, as well as patients who participate in rehabilitation programs. In addition to providing leadership to the executive chef and dining services, Jenny teaches free community education classes and represents the hospital at many local health fairs. Jenny is passionate about bringing wellness to others, as she participates in the Edgerton School District Wellness Committee and Student Well-Being Oversight Committee.  Jenny also leads the hospital employee wellness committee to encourage employees to live a healthy lifestyle.

Edgerton Hospital CEO, Jim Schultz, congratulates Jenny on receiving this award. “Jenny is a wonderful ambassador for Edgerton Hospital and we couldn’t be happier to see her receive this award,” said Schultz. “Jenny’s expertise has made her a trusted, local resource for not only our patients, but the entire community. Her commitment to community wellness and nutrition is evident on a daily basis, and we appreciate all she does to support the hospital’s mission.”
