May is Mental Health Awareness Month and May 15th is International Wear Green Day (for mental health), so Edgerton Hospital is hosting an event to promote mental health awareness and services in our community and area, and to break down stigma surrounding mental and behavioral health.
We will begin with a brief introduction from our President & CEO about the importance of mental health and Edgerton Hospital's efforts to expand access to mental health services in South Central Wisconsin. Some of our providers who offer mental health services or mental health screenings will follow, with an overview of their roles at Edgerton Hospital and Health Services, and why they decided to work in areas to provide mental health services or screenings. Healing Garden Manager, Mark Dwyer, will also discuss the importance of plants and outdoor spaces in improving mental wellness.
Following this 15–20-minute introduction, the event will adapt to an open house until 12:30pm, highlighted by:
This event is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Our staff and guests are invited and encouraged to WEAR GREEN.
Can't join us in person? You can still participate by coordinating a Wear Green to work day AND posting your photo in our Facebook post on the morning of 5/15, or on our Facebook Event page.
It would be a great way to show your support for mental health and wellness in our community, state and society. So be sure to WEAR GREEN on 5/15!
