Edgerton Hospital Receives 2017 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for
Outstanding Performance in Patient Experience

Edgerton Hospital is pleased to announce it has been named a 2017 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have consistently achieved the 95th percentile or above for performance in patient experience.

The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of outstanding achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients across the country for each reporting period during the course of one year.

Edgerton Hospital was specifically recognized for its outstanding patient satisfaction scores for emergency room care. The hospital’s emergency and urgent care department is known for combining small town, personal care with big-city skills. Its board-certified physicians are all trained in Emergency Medicine and come from large trauma centers. There are eight emergency physicians, who have backgrounds such as University of Wisconsin medical flight doctors, a United States Navy battalion surgeon, several emergency medical service directors, medical directors and emergency medicine professors. Each has experience working in busy trauma centers, and enjoys the less extreme atmosphere and particularly the down-home contact they have with patients in Edgerton. However, all are prepared and experienced in a multitude of traumas, so quality is never sacrificed for convenience.

“The entire team at Edgerton Hospital is extremely honored to have received the Guardian of Excellence Award,” said Jim Schultz, Edgerton Hospital CEO. “What this award celebrates is that we are consistently exceeding our patients’ expectations during their time of need. Our highly trained team of doctors, nurses, lab and radiology technicians, and each caregiver that comes into contact with our patients and their families, has one goal - to provide patient-centered, high quality care. This award is national recognition that we’re doing just that and our patients are happy, and we couldn’t ask for anything more.”

According to Schultz, the award represents an important recognition from the industry’s leader in measuring, understanding and improving the patient experience.

"We are proud to partner with Edgerton Hospital,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. “This award is a testament to the organization’s leadership in delivering patient-centered care. By achieving and sustaining this level of excellence, Edgerton Hospital continues to demonstrate their commitment to reducing patient suffering and advancing the overall quality of health care.”
