Edgerton Hospital Expands Surgery Program

Welcomes Dr. Andrew H. Rikkers, FACOS  

Edgerton Hospital is pleased to announce that its surgery program is growing with the addition of general surgeon, Dr. Andrew H. Rikkers, FACOS. As a general surgeon, Dr. Rikkers will primarily focus on performing endoscopies and colonoscopies at Edgerton Hospital.

 Edgerton Hospital CEO, Jim Schultz, says that Dr. Rikkers is bringing a service much needed in this community. “We are very happy to offer our patients a local, convenient option for surgery and diagnostic scopes. Having routine colonoscopies saves lives, and we want our patients to have access to great care, and not have to wait months for an appointment. Having Dr. Rikkers on staff will allow for just that. He is a great surgeon, and we’re excited to have him on our team.”

 Dr. Rikkers brings to Edgerton Hospital nearly 18 years of experience as a general surgeon. He received his medical degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, and completed a Laparoscopic/Robotic Surgical Fellowship in Strasbourg, France. Dr. Rikkers is currently an Attending General Surgeon at Monroe Clinic.
